SERCO's Travelling Teddy
Serco Streets Supervisor, Kerry Jones (Wycombe & Chiltern Serco UK&E) has come up with a novel way to highlight the fact that he and his colleagues are raising funds for the children's nursing service.
The team, who are based in High Wycome and Amersham, have arranged a car boot sale on Monday 28th May between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm with all proceeds going to The Pepper Foundation. But they haven't been resting on their laurels in the meantime. They kicked off their fundraising with a Christmas raffle which raised £172 and since then Kerry has been out and about with a little friend - a very friendly teddy donated by the local Rennie Grove charity shop in Flackwell Heath.
Teddy has been on tour and so far has dropped in on Chiltern District Council, Clay Lane Depot, Ringway Jacobs and London Road East. Staff have been trying to 'guess the name of the teddy' for a £1 donation and have been very generous so far.. It's a well kept secret, as even Pepper doesn't know what his name is!
There have been lots of donations coming in for the bank holiday car boot sale, which is being run by Serco staff, and more items are expected over the next couple of weeks. So if you are anywhere near the Serco Depot at London Road East, (next to the household recycling centre), then why not drop in on the car boot sale and grab yourself a bargain? See poster above for full details.
